  14.           Welcome to PASSBOOK -- The personal financial management
  15.           system for the IBM PC.
  16.           
  17.           Originally designed as a business tool, PASSBOOK is a close
  18.           relative of the program JOURNAL. I found after writing
  19.           JOURNAL that it was perfect for keeping track of my
  20.           checking, savings and money market accounts. The documents
  21.           enclosed in this distribution are actually written for
  22.           JOURNAL, but don't let that confuse you. Just:
  23.           
  24.           -- Substitute the word PASSBOOK for the work JOURNAL
  25.           whenever possible.
  26.           
  27.           -- Ignore any sections of the documentation which discuss
  28.           updating a chart of accounts. This is not possible, (and not
  29.           necessary) when using PASSBOOK. PASSBOOK comes with three
  30.           built in accounts to which you may post entries. These are:
  31.                 100 DEPOSITS
  32.                 200 WITHDRAWALS
  33.                 300 MISC.

  36.           The floppy disk which you have received includes the
  37.           following:

  39.                 PASSBOOK.COM : The PASSBOOK Executable file.
  40.                 REFMAN.JNL : a copy of the JOURNAL Reference Manual.
  41.                 USERMAN.JNL: a copy of the JOURNAL User Manual
  42.           
  43.                 README.PSB: this file.
